Down the beautiful Schooner Trail you will find a wide secluded beach in Schooner Cove, at the North end of Long Beach. South to Long Beach is an easy walk. If walking with little ones or older ones, have an energetic person walk back to the lot and drive to meet you at Long Beach while you walk the short distance along the level sand to the top of Long Beach. North along the beach at Schooner Cove takes you along a quiet beach that seems to go on forever. As always, keep in mind the time and the tides. At low tide you can explore the rocks for sealife including starfish, mussels, algae, green anemones, crab molts, bull kelp, purple shore crabs and many other creatures. Keep your eyes upward also to find eagles in the tree tops. A little ways north of Schooner Cove brings you to a setting of rocks out in the ocean that shows the beauty of the rugged West Coast. Part of the Pacific Rim National Park.
